GASTROENTEROLOGY
Paul K. Brodsky, M.D. Paul K. Brodsky, M.D. has been a partner at West Carver Medical
Associates since 1974. He is a board certified Internist and Gastroenterologist.
Dr. Brodsky received a B.A. from New York University
with honors in Chemistry and went on to his medical training at
the State University of New York at Syracuse. His post-graduate
training included: The George Washington University Hospital and
The Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington D.C. and the
Albert Einstein and Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New
York.
Dr. Brodsky has special interests in the diagnosis and treatment
of digestive disorders.

Andrea Sacknoff, M.D.
Andrea Sacknoff, M.D. graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and went on to New York Medical College. She trained in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and was the Chief Resident there prior to her sub-specialty training in Gastroenterology. Dr. Sacknoff’s GI fellowship at Lenox Hill included the world renowned Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program, where she conducted research as well as endoscopic training by Dr. Jerome Waye. Dr. Sacknoff is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Sacknoff joined the faculty at North Shore University Hospital in the Division of Gastroenterology in 1994. In addition to caring for patients, she taught GI fellows, lectured and continued clinical research.
In 2000, Dr. Sacknoff brought her private practice to Huntington where her interests include colorectal cancer screening, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Dr. Sacknoff is proud to offer West Carver Medical Associate’s level of care to her patients.

Alan M. Schuller, M.D.
Alan M. Schuller, M.D. earned a B.S. with distinction from Cornell University and his medical degree from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. He trained in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York City and completed a Gastroenterology fellowship at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn. Dr. Schuller received specialized training in Nutrition Support during his fellowship.
Dr. Schuller joined West Carver Medical Associates in 1992. His special interests include gastrointestinal endoscopy, hepatology and nutritional support. He is a member of the nutrition committee at Huntington Hospital and chairman of the Nutrition Support Team.
Dr. Schuller is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology.

CARIOLOGY
Marc Hazan, M.D.
Dr. Marc Hazan joined West Carver Medical Associates in 1982. He actively practices Cardiology and Internal Medicine and is board certified in both areas.
Dr. Hazan emphasizes disease prevention and early detection through modification of lifestyle and selective testing. He believes that patients must take responsibility for their own health and seeks to assist them in doing so. Dr. Hazan is passionate about the importance of the doctor patient relationship and feels that doctors must provide expert and compassionate care. He remains committed to high quality hospital care for his patients when they develop complex medical problems.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Hazan earned a masters degree in public health at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Hazan earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate in 1976. He trained as an intern, resident and chief resident in Internal Medicine at King’s County Hospital until 1980. He was then a fellow in Cardiology at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York until coming to Huntington in 1982.
In the Huntington Hospital medical community Dr. Hazan is also an active participant. He served as Chief of Cardiology from 2001 to 2005 and assisted in bringing a cardiac catheterization laboratory to our community. Additionally, he has been the Director of the Coronary Care Unit, Associate Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation, Co-Director of Echocardiography and Co-Director of the Women’s Heart Program. Dr. Hazan has worked to improve the quality of care at Huntington Hospital as Chairman of the Cardiology Performance Improvement Committee and as a member of the Department of Internal Medicine Quality Assurance Committee, the Cardiac Arrest Committee, the Critical Care Committee and the Council on Leadership on Thrombosis Committee. He continues to work to assure that our local community receives the highest quality of care in Huntington Hospital.
Dr. Hazan has resided in Huntington since 1982 and is proud to have raised three children. He enjoys hiking, skiing, baseball, the beach, movies, photography, reading history and spending time with his wife, Nancy and their children.

David Sacknoff, M.D.
Dr. David Sacknoff graduated from Duke University and went on to New York Medical College. He did his Internal Medicine training at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and then became a fellow in Cardiovascular Disease at Lenox Hill. He was named the Tanney Sports Medicine Fellow, conducted clinical research and trained in diagnostic coronary angiography with Dr. Jeffrey Moses. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases.
Dr. Sacknoff joined West Carver Medical Associates in 1994 continuing a long tradition of excellent and devoted medical care in the Huntington community where his father practiced as a family physician for 35 years.
Dr. Sacknoff has special expertise in treating coronary artery disease, hyperlipidemia and hypertension as well as all forms of vascular disease including peripheral artery disease and carotid arterial disease. He performs diagnostic coronary angiography, stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography.
Dr. Sacknoff is proud to be able to offer his advanced training and knowledge to the community as part of West Carver Medical Associates.

Marc Weinberg, M.D.
Marc Weinberg, M.D., graduated from Yale University School of Medicine in 1973. He completed his residency, chief residency and cardiology fellowship at Yale University.
In 1979, Dr. Weinberg joined West Carver Medical Associates. He has served as Chief of the Cardiology and Chief of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Huntington Hospital. He also teaches Cardiology fellows at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset.
Dr. Weinberg has special interest in coronary artery disease and cardiovascular risk reduction.
INTERNAL
MEDICINE
Yana Shamaev Berk, M.D.
Born and raised in one of the republics of the former Soviet Union, Dr. Berk came to the United States in 1982. She graduated with honors earning a B.S. degree in Biology from Temple University and received her medical degree from Sackler School of Medicine in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
After 3 years of training in the Internal Medicine residency program at Albert Einstein School of Medicine, Dr. Berk practiced Emergency Medicine in New York City for the next 12 years.
Dr. Berk is board certified in Internal Medicine and joined our staff in 2005. She continues to practice her hands on skills which she practiced in the emergency department for many years. Dr. Berk has a particular interest in weight management and inspires many patients to make a change towards healthier living.

David Linker, M.D.
David Linker, M.D., graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha national honor medical society. He completed his residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital and is board certified in Internal Medicine.
In 2002, Dr. Linker joined West Carver Medical Associates, where he continues to practice. He is on staff at Gurwin Fay J. Lindner assisted living facility as well as Hillaire Farms and Carillon nursing homes. He is an attending physician at Huntington Hospital.

Robin E. Thompson, M.D.
Robin E. Thompson, M.D. is a graduate of SUNY Stony Brook Medical School. After completion of an Internal Medicine residency at Stony Brook University an additional year of Chief Residency was served at SUNY Stony Brook. Dr. Thompson is a board certified Internist as well as a Fellow in the American College of Physicians. Dr. Thompson has been inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Since 1991, Dr. Thompson has enjoyed practicing internal medicine at West Carver Medical Associates and has served as a clinical instructor at Stony Brook Medical School. She is an active member of Huntington Hospital’s medical staff and maintains admitting privileges for inpatient care. Dr. Thompson has also served as a council member for the American College of Physicians.

Jed J. Weinberg, M.D.
Jed J. Weinberg, M.D. is a board certified Internist. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. During his training he was awarded the honor of Intern of the Year. He was also appointed Chief Medical Resident and supervised medical residents in three teaching hospitals.
Dr. Weinberg accepted an academic appointment in a faculty practice at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center for two years before joining West Carver Medical Associates in October, 1989. He was actively involved in teaching Stony Brook medical students from 1990 through 2004. Specifically he was Course Director and Preceptor for the Physical Diagnosis Course at Huntington Hospital from 1990 through 1998. He became a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 1994. In addition, Dr. Weinberg served on the hospital Pharmacy Committee through 2005.
Dr. Weinberg has twenty years of experience in clinical medicine and enjoys practicing in all aspects of patient care including office, hospital medicine and nursing home settings.

Eileen Gallagher, M.D.
Eileen Gallagher graduated Magna Cum Laude from Adelphi University
with a BS, majoring in Biology as well as Chemistry and special
Honors in Liberal Studies. She went on to medical school at The
Upstate Medical center of Syracuse where she was inducted into the
Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her training
at Winthrop University Hospital in Internal Medicine in 1996 where
she was twice named for special commendation as an outstanding resident.
She began her career in private practice at West Carver Medical
Associates in 1996 and was pleased to serve the community in which
she lives for the next nine years. In addition to her work her at
West Carver, she maintained privileges at Huntington Hospital as
well as several skilled nursing facilities locally and was proud
to serve on the Disaster Committee of Huntington Hospital. She took
a brief hiatus in her practice of medicine to tend to the needs
of her growing family of five children. During that period she was
able to complete her continuing medical education requirements as
well as obtain recertification by American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Gallagher is excited to return to serving the medical needs
of our community. She enjoys the challenges found in caring for
the entire spectrum of medical problems that occur in the adult
population, and is especially interested in helping to implement
the measures we know of that can prevent many of them.

NURSE
PRACTITIONERS
Christine Colacino, RN, ANP
Christine Colacino is a graduate of Beth Israel School of Nursing. She has 18 years of experience as a critical care nurse at North Shore University, St. Francis and Huntington Hospitals. She has also worked in nursing administration at Huntington Hospital for 14 years.
Chris continued her education at SUNY Stony Brook, earning her Master of Science degree in 1996. She worked as a nurse practitioner in the division of cardiology at New York Hospital and out patient cardiology at North Suffolk Cardiology before joining West Carver Medical Associates in 1999.
Chris is a board certified Adult Health & Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She is involved in several professional organizations and is Coordinator of the Nurse Practitioner Journal Club of Huntington.

Margaret Krepp, RN, ANP
Peggy Krepp is a graduate of Flushing Hospital School of Nursing, earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Regents College and in 1996 a Masters of Science at SUNY Stony Brook. Peggy holds several certifications including Adult Nurse Practitioner, Cardiovascular Nursing and is a Certified Diabetes Educator.
She has served in several roles at Huntington Hospital and was selected by the nursing staff as “Nurse of Excellence” in 2000.
Peggy joined West Carver Medical Associates as a nurse practitioner in 1997. In addition to her role as a Nurse Practitioner, she coordinates that Arrhythmia Service provided by the practice.
